Understanding the Procedure
The incision will begin just above the ear, extend along the hairline down toward the front of the ear, and end behind the ear above the hairline. An additional incision will be made under the chin. The muscles on the surface of the neck and the tissues of the cheeks with which they blend will be suspended and tightened through these incisions. Then, the skin of the face and neck will be repositioned, providing the long-lasting results of the layered face lift.
The face lift is performed in one day and you will leave with a gauze wrapping and a small drain tube. Mild bruising and swelling are to be expected for ten to fourteen days following the procedure.

Post-operative Day 1, Dr. Nordberg will remove dressings and drains. Post-operative Day 5 he will remove some sutures and all remaining sutures will be removed post-operative Day 12. Patients may also be instructed to wear a compression garment.
Candidacy
If you are experiencing any combination of the following, you may be a candidate for face lift:

- Deepening folds from the corners of the mouth to the jaw
- Progressive sagging of the skin under the chin and neck
