The Procedure
The Brazilian butt lift is a type of fat grafting procedure that uses liposuction to transfer fat from one or more areas of the patient ’s body to the buttocks. Typically, the fat is removed from the back, abdomen, hips, or thighs. The fat cells are then processed and purified, and only the best donor fat cells are used. Dr. Nordberg will inject these purified cells at various locations and depths into the buttocks so that the enhancement looks smooth and natural.

Results and Recovery
You will see results from your butt lift immediately. However, the final results will not be apparent until about a year after surgery, since some time must pass for the fat to “take.”For the first three weeks after surgery, it is important not to sit directly on your buttocks. This will allow the graft to take hold and will help ensure a long-lasting result. You will be scheduled for a follow-up appointment approximately one week post-surgery. For two weeks, you will wear a compression garment to control swelling. After four weeks, you should be able to resume your normal activities.
Candidates
Men or women with flat or undersized buttocks with sufficient fat in other areas of the body are generally excellent candidates for a Brazilian butt lift. Often, the procedure is chosen by those who:

- Have tried exercise to enhance the area, without success
- Simply desire a rounder or perkier backside
Since liposuction is the first step, patients who are interested in whittling their waist, abdomen, hips, or thighs are exceptionally good candidates for this kind of butt augmentation. Since only the best fat is transferred, the surgeon generally needs to liposuction up to three times the amount of fat that will in turn be injected into the buttocks. Liposuction that makes the waist or lower back smaller will also make the butt appear more shapely and prominent.

Risks

- Skin infection
