Hyaluronic Acid is a grouping of injectable fillers that has revolutionized the "in-office "treatment of deeper wrinkles. A variety of products are available (Juvederm®, Captique, Restylane®, etc.) each with its own unique characteristics but all providing excellent results.
Young, healthy skin contains a large amount of a naturally occurring substance called hyaluronic acid. Many factors including age and sun exposure can reduce the amount of this hydrating substance in your skin. Less amounts of hyaluronic acid results in the loss of structure and volume which then creates unwanted wrinkles.
Juvederm® XC replaces the hyaluronic acid the skin has lost. It has smooth gel properties and a unique structure that holds up over time. It is FDA approved and can last up to one year with only one treatment. Juvederm® XC is formulated with lidocaine, a common anesthetic, to provide more comfort during and after treatment. Application of the gel can be done as a quick in-office procedure. When combined with Botox® the results you see can be even more exciting.
