Erase the Signs of Skin Damage with Skin Lesion Treatment

Skin lesions develop as a result of sun exposure, age, and other environmental factors. Such lesions include moles (nevus), cysts, sun damage, brown spots, and skin cancers. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer and usually is treatable by removing the tumor and a margin of normal skin. Evaluation of the tissue by a pathology lab then confirms the diagnosis and guides any further treatment.

New skin lesions are often checked by a Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon. A lesion may be treated with observation, freezing, scraping, or full-thickness skin excision. The resultant defect may need to be repaired by suturing the edges together or by bringing adjacent tissue in to cover the defect (called a flap). A Plastic Surgeon is often asked to remove and close skin cancers or other lesions of the face or other sensitive areas of the body. When it comes to skin lesions, choosing the appropriate treatment for excision and reconstruction is crucial to achieving the best result.

Sun damaged skin, brown spots, and fine wrinkles can also be treated using modalities like laser, dermabrasion, peels, or skin care systems. I often utilize the Obagi skin care line to treat these conditions and improve the appearance and quality of your skin.  For the greatest transformation patients find the Nu-Derm system to have the best results.  Obagi Clenziderm is incredibly successful at clearing the skin from acne.
